Tinting FAQs

WHY DO I NEED WINDOW TINT?

The first key benefit is the reduction of fading. Exposure to the sun, especially the UV rays, quickly discolors anything directly in the path of the sun. Window tinting filters out up to 99% of the damaging UV rays that cause the fading of curtains and drapes, carpet, furniture, hardwood floors, and artwork. Tinting will keep these items looking nicer, longer.

Second, rooms can get so hot they become unusable. Tinting the windows in these rooms make them usable all day long, all year 'round.

Third, and related to rooms becoming so hot they are unusable, is the energy savings the homeowner and business enjoys as a result of window tinting, both summer and winter. During hot summer days, your air conditioner will run less and in the winter, the tinting film will create a thermal layer keeping the cold out while helping keep your heat in.

Fourth, tinting is an important factor when it comes to reducing glare on your television or computer screen.

Finally, window tinting, while providing you with a terrific view to the outside world, helps you retain your privacy while you are inside your home or business.

AFTER MY WINDOWS ARE TINTED, HOW DO I CLEAN THEM?

Any non-ammonia cleaner and a soft cloth or paper towel will work. We use Sprayway Glass Cleaner, but there are several products on the market that work well also. Just be sure to read the label and be sure it does not contain ammonia. If you use a professional window cleaning service, let them know your windows are tinted.

CAN DUAL PANE WINDOWS BE TINTED?

Dual pane windows are very common these days. They have two panes of glass about one-half inch apart with gas sealed in between the two panes. These windows can be tinted; however, certain guidelines must be followed.

WHAT IS SAFETY AND SECURITY FILM?

This is a film made with a much thicker polyester and thicker, more aggressive adhesive system. This film is designed to make the glass shatter-resistant by holding the glass pieces together when broken.

CAN YOU REDUCE THE GLARE ON MY COMPUTER AND TV SCREENS?

Glare is the most difficult problem to solve. To get the most glare stoppage, you have to use a darker film.

What Customers Say

I wanted to take this opportunity to say how pleased I am with the window film you recently installed in my home. You made the process so easy and were in and out in no time at all. Unlike prior experiences I have had with people working in my home, you left no mess – if I hadn’t seen you, I wouldn’t have even known you had been there! Thanks again.

Wow! I am amazed how much cooler my house has been this summer since I had you install the window tint on my home!! I had been worrying about my new hardwood floors fading. I’m relieved to know that I have the protection needed to help slow this process down. Thanks for your professionalism and knowledge of your product and thanks for making the whole process so easy. Take care.

It was a pleasure working with you and Nancy. Thanks for taking time to make recommendations I needed and explaining what tint would work best where. The e-mail communication was also very convenient. Thanks for making my home more comfortable for my daughter and I.

Carl. When we first spoke about the film, I was interested in reducing the heat in my home. During the course of our conversation, you mentioned the security aspect of the film as well. My husband travels and I am alone at times. Besides being cooler this summer, I have also felt safer in my home. I know that someone cannot just break the glass to enter my home. They would have to do some serious banging to get in. Thanks for sharing this info!

I never realized that I needed protection in the winter months to keep my furniture from fading. Thanks for educating me on this process. By the way, I love the film! I’ve noticed that even though I don’t feel the winter sun coming through the windows, the heat seems to stay in my rooms longer. I’m so glad I had this done!
